چکیده

The changes in lumbopelvic motion and trunk muscle activity occurring during 2000 m rowing elite collegiate rowers (five men three women with careers of 5.6±2.1 years) were investigated. pelvic inclination the lumbar angle calculated. Surface electrodes attached to rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal multifidus, erector spinae, latissimus dorsi, femoris, biceps femoris. Three consecutive strokes at 20% 80% time-points a race simulation analyzed. root-mean-square was calculated early drive phase, late recovery phase. Root-mean-square amplitude normalized by maximum voluntary contraction. Between two time-points, paired t-tests for each Wilcoxon signed-rank tests performed. Biceps femoris phase abdominis decreased significantly prolonged rowing. Posterior pelvis catch middle positions, flexion position, spinae multifidus increased inability maintain set position owing may lead excessive posterior tilt position. Since an increase occurred apparent opposition function, repetitive have control intersegmental spine.

A Three-Dimensional Study of Body Motion During Ergometer Rowing

Background: Rowing movements can be simulated using specialized ergometers; the method can be used both for training and indoor assessment of body movements within controlled conditions. Purpose: To perform a three-dimensional quantitative analysis of body movements during ergometer rowing, and to examine if there is a relationship between anthropometry and rowing kinematics. Study Design: Desc...

Gender differences in trunk and pelvic kinematics during prolonged ergometer rowing in adolescents.

The trunk and pelvis kinematics of 20 healthy male and female adolescent rowers were recorded during an ergometer trial using an electromagnetic tracking system (Fastrak). The kinematics of each drive phase were collected during the 1st and 20th minute, respectively. The mean and range of the kinematics, stroke rate and stroke length were compared between genders and over time. Male rowers post...

Three-Dimensional Motion Analysis of Lumbopelvic Rhythm During Trunk Extension

Hip-spine coordination, known as the lumbopelvic rhythm, can be expressed as the lumbar-hip ratio. The lumbopelvic rhythm and lumbar-hip ratio can be used to assess lower limb function. We clarified the lumbopelvic rhythm and lumbar-hip ratio during trunk extension. We established a novel set of marker positions for three-dimensional motion analysis to assess the lumbar spinal angle. The origin...

Relationship between 2000-m rowing ergometer performance times and World Rowing Championships rankings in elite-standard rowers.

In this study, we evaluated the extent to which 2000-m rowing ergometer performance times predicted final rankings at the World Rowing Championships in a sample of 638 rowers of both sexes and body-mass classifications (i.e., open-category and lightweight rowers). Rowing ergometer performance times were examined using a questionnaire, and in 17 of 23 events they were positively correlated (P < ...

Comparison of step-wise and ramp-wise incremental rowing exercise tests and 2000-m rowing ergometer performance.

PURPOSE This study examined parameters derived from both an incremental step-wise and a ramp-wise graded rowing exercise test in relation to rowing performance. METHODS Discontinuous step-wise incremental rowing to exhaustion established lactate threshold (LT), maximum oxygen consumption (VO(2maxSTEP)), and power associated with VO(2max) (W VO(2max)). A further continuous ramp-wise test was u...
